Omafuru Foundation acknowledges receipt of Expression of Interest forms from the underlisted schools:
- Jenny Secondary School, Ekete
- Anthony’s Secondary School, Ugborikoko, Effurun
- Alvina’s High School
- Bright Success Group of Schools, Igbogidi
- Keystone Schools, Effurun
- DSC Technical High School, Orhuwhorun
- Cambridge International School, Warri
- Love Schools, DSC
- Federal Government College, Warri
These schools met with the March 31 deadline for expression of interest to participate in the 2017 Spelling Bee Competition. We apologize to other schools within Warri (particularly state schools on strike when the notice for the competition was sent out) that were unable to meet the deadline and we look forward to the active participation of more schools in future editions of this and other competitions organized by Omafuru Foundation.
A reduction in the number of expected schools has necessitated a minor adjustment to the rules of the competition. There will be just three Qualification Rounds, each between three of the nine schools where only the winner of each group will advance to the final.
In order to ensure a fair and transparent process, Omafuru Foundation will organize a draw to determine the grouping of participating schools for the Qualification Rounds on Friday 5th May by 2pm. The draw will be done at our branch office at E-Clicks Solutions, DSC Shopping Mall, Steel Town I, Orhuwhorun.
Each of the participating schools will be required to send a representative to witness the draw. Vital information on the modalities of the competition will also be disclosed.
